Leaderball is a daily football quiz made by Brandpeneur B.V. in the Netherlands. This page explains what the app and leaderball.app keep about you. The short version: a username, your club and your game results. No name, email address, phone number or password.
What we collect
- An anonymous sign-in. When you first open Leaderball, it creates an anonymous account so your scores stay yours. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID.
- Your username and club. You choose these. Your username, club, scores and badges are shown to other players on the leaderboards. Don't use your real name if you'd rather not.
- Your game results. For each day you play: when you started and finished, the answers you found, wrong guesses, whether you left the app during a question, and your score. This is how scores, streaks, badges and the "% found" figures are worked out.
- Private leagues and linked devices. Which leagues you are in, and which of your devices you linked to the same account.
What we don't collect
No contact details, no location, no contacts, no photos, no advertising identifiers. There are no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking across other apps or websites.
Notifications
The daily reminders are scheduled on your phone by the app itself. They are not sent from our servers, and you can turn them off in your iPhone's Settings at any time.
Where it is stored
Game data is stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in the European Union (Ireland). The website is hosted on our own server in the European Union. On the website, your anonymous sign-in is kept in your browser's local storage.
Why we use it
Only to run the game: scoring, leaderboards, leagues, streaks and badges, and to stop cheating. We never sell it or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Delete your account and your username, club, results, league memberships and linked devices are removed.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Delete account. This removes everything listed above straight away. You can also email us and we will do it for you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it is used. Email us at the address below. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Children
Leaderball is not aimed at children under 13. Usernames are checked for offensive words, and the only thing other players can see is your username, club, scores and badges.
